Our second office location at D-1 in the citrus park area!

The new location is in the old circuit city building in the citrus park area, just down the street from citrus park mall, at 6918 Gunn Highway. It is at the intersection of the Veterans Highway and Gunn Highway (which is called citrus park drive as it passes the mall). It is exit 9 from the Veteran’s Highway. The new office will be open from 8-5, Monday thru Friday.

The second office will offer all services that the Westchase location already does. By adding professional staff, we will be able to offer more same day appointments for urgent needs, and we will purposely hold at least ten spots for same day visits. Dr Berland will be at both offices (he will be at the “D-1″ office Tuesdays and Thursdays). Our latest addition, Cassie Stabins, ARNP, will be exclusively at the new office, and our next doctor will be there soon. We plan to offer early/late appointments in the near future, and we will keep you posted.

My 15 years in medicine proven to me that we have amazing potential to modify our health by nutrition, exercise, and stress modification. I understand that if those issues are not addressed, the opportunity to prevent and treat health conditions is compromised. Our doctors try to incorporate these wellness issues into each visit. I think that as a society, we have allowed ourselves to become too inactive. Many of us are stuck behind computers ten hours a day, and then we go home and watch tv or play on our personal computers. We need to get moving!

Patients First has partnered with a training facility in our new location, to help stress the exercise component.

D-1 Sports Training was founded in 2002 by Will Bartholmew, who played football at the University of Tennessee with Peyton Manning, and was captain of their national championship team in 1998. D-1 now has 13 locations across the country. They offer general training for adults with ‘boot camp’ type formats, as well as custom sports training programs for all ages with expert coaching and the latest in sports therapy. Each D-1 gym has professional athlete sponsorship. The local sponsors include Tim Tebow of the Gators and Broncos, Derrek Brooks of our local Buccaneers, Chipper Jones of MLB’s Atlanta Braves, and WWE star Chris Jericho. Other professional sponsors include Peyton Manning, Phillip Rivers, Herschel Walker, Heather Mitts, and many more.

The new building also houses physical therapy, orthopedic surgery, and there is an outpatient surgery center on site. The pylon sign that faces the street reads “D-1 Campus and Sports Medicine”, and our logos are on the building.
